Dunbar Parade

I was supposed to be in the Dunbar parade, today, but I couldn't make it.

I apologize for not making it, but I have been fighting the flu for a couple of days and this morning was the worse.

Is Deberah Kula Against Hunters and Gun Owners?

Deberah Kula has accepted $8000 from the Teresa Heinz Kerry family.

Everyone knows that Teresa Heinz Kerry loves to support Gun Control Groups, Anti Second Amendment Groups, Anti-Gun Groups, Anti Hunter Groups and career politicians that support those types of groups.

Is this why Teresa Heinz Kerry gave Kula $8000?

So Kula will repay the favor by voting for anti hunter and gun control laws?

Open up the newspapers and check out the PCN channel. There is a lot of anti gun and anti hunter debates and laws coming up in the future.

Do we really want an anti-hunter gun control politician voting against our rights to own guns or to hunt?

I am a life member of the NRA and I am being endorsed by the NRA and the Firearms Owners Against Crime.

Kula is being endorsed by one of the biggest Anti-Hunter Gun Control advocates in the past 20 years, Teresa Heinz Kerry!

Remember to vote your rights.

The first thing Hitler did when he took office in Germany was to confiscate the German's guns. If you don't have any way to protect yourself, your other rights will be taken away, too.

That's what Teresa Heinz Kerry wants to do...Is Deberah Kula going to be her puppet in Harrisburg?

I don't want to find out, because too many of my fellow veterans have died for you to have those rights and I will not stand by and let Teresa Heinz Kerry and Deberah Kula take them away without a fight!

Vote William R. Earnesty to preserve your rights to hunt and to protect your families!

Until Next Time...Have A Great Day!!!

NEWS FLASH!!!!!!!

HSTV 19 will be broadcasting the 52nd District Editorial Board forum between my opponent and myself next Wednesday!

10/4/2006 at 8:00 pm will be the first broadcast and then it will be repeated a few times up to the election!

This is great news for me, because it is free advertising for me and people will get to see the difference between my opponent and myself.

The people will get to hear her NOT answer the questions like a typical career politician and hear me answer the questions honestly and intelligently.

It's finally time to send a working man like me, William R. Earnesty, to Harrisburg, so we can finally take care of our real working class families!

We don't need another career politician, like Kula in Harrisburg taxing us to death.

Until Next Time...Have A Great Day!!!

Apologies for the Triple Post

I need to apologize for that last blog entry posting 3 times.

Herald-Standard 52nd District Editorial Board

The Herald-Standard Editorial Board held their 52nd District forum this evening.

It will air on HSTV19 which is only on the Uniontown Cable TV system.

It used to be Helicon, I think it's Atlantic Broadband or something.

It went very well, even though Ms. Kula didn't answer too many of the questions.

She sort of beat around the bush on many of them and just kept repeating what is printed on her handouts.

I challenged Ms. Kula to publicly turn down all payraises, free healthcare, pensions, and the free cars, but she ignored me.

How can a person run for the State Representative office and not follow the Constitution.

It really disgusts me that we have so many career politicians that think that they don't have to follow the law and she brags about having 31 years in the judicial system, but she doesn't understand the state constitution.

Kula has collected another $20,000 or more from outside of the 52nd District.

Oh, and someone emailed me a bunch of her campaign finance reports and highlighted certain names.

After a few minutes, I realized that all the names had something in common....they were all LAWYERS!!!

Now, at first glance, that's no big deal, but every single one of those lawyers had at one time or another defended criminals in front of District Magistrate Deberah Kula.

And now those lawyers are making donations to her campaign.

The woman who emailed this to me said it looked like the lawyers may have been either paying her back for favors in the past or paying for a future favor.

I replied that you really can't be sure, but it does look pretty unethical for lawyers to be donating to a former district magistrate.

As a candidate, you should never accept money from people if it looks illegal or unethical, but career politicians play by their own rules.

Kula doesn't seem to have any scruples at all when it comes to accepting cash from people.

So far over 70% of her campaign contributions have come from outside of the 52nd District.

So, my question is...If she wins, who will she represent?

The people that elected her or the people that gave her all that money?

She will vote and do things for the people who gave her all that money, because money talks!

People don't give thousands of dollars to someone without wanting something in return.

And you know it's the taxpayers that will get screwed, because Kula will already have her free healthcare, pension, and free car, so we will have to pay for her political favors and kickbacks.

Stop this career politician from dragging the Fay-West Area further down into Poverty!

Vote for William R. Earnesty, so we can stop Fayette Politics as usual!

Until Next Time...Have A Great Day!!!

Mt. Pleasant Glass and Ethnic Festival

First of all, I apologize for the delay in posting about my day at the festival on Sunday, but I have been home recuperating from a crazy thing that happened to me a few days ago.

As many of you know, I got poison ivy on my ankles last week when my kids and I were playing kickball.

Well, the poison ivy on my ankle got infected, made my ankle swell up and caused me a lot of unbearable pain, so Sunday morning I went to the ER and got a shot to kick start some antibiotic and some other medicine.

The doctor told me that I was lucky that I came in when I did or it may have been worse than what it was and she couldn't believe that I was able to walk in the parade with my ankle like that, but I told her that the people wanted to see me walking in the parade and that's what they got.

Well, my ankle is feeling better now, but I limped around the festival on Sunday and checked out all the booths and all the food and the Poverty Neck Hillbillies concert and the very awesome fireworks.

My kids and I wore our custom Steelers jerseys with the #13 and Earnesty on them and everyone loved them. We attracted a crowd and the people seemed amazed that I would hang out in the crowd and talk to the people just like I was one of them.

Apparently, my opponent never left the Westmoreland Democrats booth during the entire festival, but it was a festival, so I was out enjoying it with my fellow citizens.

That's one thing about me, I am just like everyone else and I have never acted like I was any better than the people.

That's what we need a State Representative that isn't afraid to hang out and shake hands with the people that they represent and with your vote, I will be that Representative.

We have a debate scheduled for tomorrow with the Herald-Standard, it will be taped and shown on HSTV19. If you do not get HSTV (it's the Uniontown area cable company), please try to find someone that has it and enjoy the show.

Until Next Time...Have A Great Day!!!

Mt. Pleasant Glass Festival Parade

It was such a beautiful day for a parade!

This morning looked so nasty, like it rained for a week and would rain for another week more, but when the band started to play and the Color Guard lined up to carry Old Glory, the sun broke through the clouds and didn't stop shining until sunset and then the rain came.

I am so glad that I had the opportunity to walk in the parade, today.

I had the chance to talk to a few old friends, like Jerry Lucia and Jess Stairs and my kids even saw some of their friends in the crowd.

I love doing stuff like this with my kids and I am so glad that they are at the age that they love to hang out with their Dad.

Well, the parade was a success, we threw out 50 pounds of candy to the kids. My kids had a blast throwing candy out of the van while I walked behind throwing candy to the kids that didn't get any and personally giving candy to the kids that were too little to beat out the big kids for the candy.

I had a lot of requests for pens so I found a box of pens and gave a one or two hundred out to the adults.

I regret that I had to leave the festival right after the fair, but we had scheduled my daughter's birthday party for today 5-8 at the Scottdale Community Pool (we support all of the local businesses throughout the 52nd district, not just the ones that donate to our campaign, like most career politicians) and I always have to put my kids first no matter what.

My children and I will be at the festival tomorrow starting around 1PM visiting the different booths (especially the food booths) and checking out the bands.

I had a LOT of people ask me why I didn't have a booth set up at the festival this weekend and I told them the truth...it's hard for me to afford to get all those pamphlets printed up, pay for a tent and a spot, plus pay for people to work the booth when I am paying for this campaign out of my pocket.

I didn't send out campaign contribution letters to the Heinz families, or to Bill DeWeese, or to Ed Rendell, or to other people outside of the 52nd District begging for money like my opponent has done.

I promised the people of the 52nd District that I could not be bought with people's money and that I would NEVER ask for money from people who live outside of our district.

We need to elect a State Representative that will work for the people of the 52nd District and NOT for the rich and powerful people that live elsewhere who pump thousands of dollars into elections that have nothing to do with them.

If I am elected I will REPRESENT the people of the 52nd District, because I have not accept big money from the outside, because I can NOT be bought like my opponent.

Vote for a change...Vote for a new beginning...Vote for Earnesty!

Until Next Time...Have A Great Day!!!

Mt. Pleasant Glass Festival Parade

My children and I will be in the Mt. Pleasant Glass Festival Parade today at 2 PM...rain or shine.

I am not sure if I will be riding or walking, because I hurt my ankle pretty bad this week and the swelling hasn't gone down after 3 days.

But, as usual, I will suffer through the pain and do the right thing, by being the first candidate to try to bring hope, honesty, and new ideas to the people of the 52nd district.

After the parade, I will be mingling through the crowd, not as a politician or a candidate, because I think tomorrow is supposed to be dedicated to our great heroes from the 110th and as a fellow veteran, I would never want to interfere with a tribute to our heroes.

That's one reason why I didn't set up a campaign booth at the festival, because I didn't want to take away any thing from our heroes.

It's a sad day when a politician puts his or herself before our military heroes and it's even worse when a non-veteran career politician does it.

When will the politicians learn that it's not always about them and their wallets?

I hope to see you all today during or after the parade.

Until Next Time...Have A Great Day!!!

Scottdale Fall Festival Parade

My family and I were in the Scottdale Fall Festival Parade, today.

My kids rode in my van and I marched, because walking in a parade is a great way to meet and greet the great citizens of the Scottdale area.

Of course, my opponent decided to ride in her Corvette, instead of trying to get out and meet the great people of Scottdale.

It was great to walk in the parade and see friends that I graduated with from Southmoreland who took their kids to see the parade, just like our parents used to do with us 25-30 years ago.

Scottdale is such a great town. It is a great model small town, where every one knows everyone.

I am glad I had the opportunity to be in the parade and I look forward to being in the Mt. Pleasant Glass Festival Parade next week.

And, just like today, I will be walking in that parade, too. Let's see if our opponent rides in that awesome and expensive Corvette of hers or if she walks this time.

We need to stop voting for career politicians that think they are better than the rest of us and elect a regular hard working family man, like myself for State Representative.

Until Next Time...Have A Great Day!!!

Russ Grimm Field

Last night, I took my son to my Alma Mater, Southmoreland High School!

Wow! The old football field has really changed. A huge new fieldhouse, only bands on the far side of the field, new bleachers and new artificial turf.

Last night was the first time I was there in over 16 years and it brought back some memories and my son enjoyed it, too.

The field was renamed the "Russ Grimm Field."

Mr. Russ Grimm, 3 time Super Bowl Champ as a Washington Redskins player and 1 time Super Bowl Champ as a Pittsburgh Steelers coach, was there to accept the honors.

He stayed through the entire game and shook people's hands, signed autographs, and posed for pictures.

I met Mr.Grimm and he was very down to earth.

I have always been proud of being a Southmoreland graduate.

Time to get ready for the Scottdale Fall Festival Parade, which is at noon.

I hope to see you all there!

Until Next Time...Have A Great Day!!!

Scottdale Fall Festival

I will be at the Scottdale Fall Festival all weekend.

I will probably be in the parade at noon on Saturday and just walking around all 3 days with my kids, enjoying all of the great activities, and of course, the great food.

I always loved going to the Scottdale Heritage Festival when I was a kid and now I get to take my kids to the Fall Festival.

Isn't life great. I love this district!

Until Next Time...Have A Great Day!!!

Menallen Township Meeting

I attended the Menallen Township Comprehensive Land Use Planning meeting.

I got a lot of good information, so that I can help the good people of Menallen as much as possible, if I am elected.

I was the only candidate at the meeting, but it was the least I could do to show Menallen township that at least one of their State Representative candidates care enough to attend their meetings.

Until Next Time...Have A Great Day!!!

More Endorsements...

The endorsements continue to roll in...

Today, I received a letter stating that I am being endorsed by the National Rifle Association and they gave me an "A" rating, which is the highest rating given to non incumbents.

The 52nd District is full of hunters and they deserve a Representative that will always defend their right to hunt and other citizens the right to defend themselves and their families.

Until Next Time...Have A Great Day!!!

9/11

I took my kids to Shanksville for the first time.

Needless to say, it was very sobering for me to be upon hallowed ground where innocent Americans and a young Japanese man, who just happened to be a rabid Steelers fan, fought back against a few punk terrorists.

And it was a great lesson to my young children of how a few normal people can make a difference.

We also attended the ceremony in Mt. Pleasant.

God bless America.

Future District Office Location Poll

I am having a poll to find out where people would like to see their main 52nd District Legislative office located!

I was thinking of putting it within the center of the district which runs from North Union Township to Mt. Pleasant and from Connellsville to Perry.

My opponent has already agreed to give out political favors by promising to put the office (if she wins) in a contributor's building.

You see, her campaign headquarters is in a building on Gallatin Ave in North Union Township (near the State's Driver Licensing Office), which is owned by the William Snoddy family ( Golden Eagle Construction ) and they are donating their building to Kula rent free for her campaign headquarters http://www.campaignfinance.state.pa.us/CFReport.aspx?CFReportID=43759&Section=IIG , so she decided to repay the political favor by promising to make that building the 52nd District office, if she wins.

First of all, I don't believe in political favors or nepotism, because you have to serve all of the people, not just the ones that give you lots of money, that's why I don't accept big donations from people, because I am not for sale.

Second, the 52nd District office MUST be located in the center of the district, so everyone can have equal and easy access to it, because they are all paying for it. There are many senior citizens from the Mt. Pleasant, Scottdale, Perry, Dawson, Franklin, and Jefferson and other areas that can not make the trip all the way to Kula's backyard to take care of state business and should not be forced to do it, because of a political favor.

I vow to never sale myself to the highest bidder/contributor, if I am elected, because I have made and kept that promise to myself for my entire life.

We must make a stand on November 7th and vote for the only candidate that doesn't sell himself out for political favors and money.

Please vote for me, William R. Earnesty for a better tomorrow, today!

Until Next Time...Have A Great Day!!!

Franklin Township "Town Meeting"

I attended the Franklin Township portion of the town meetings giving residents the opportunity to input their feelings on joining with Perry, Menallen, and Jefferson Townships to obtain grants for water and sewage lines.

It was very humbling, because I did not know that there are that many homes without water in Franklin Township and I did not know that there is a requirement of a minimum of 21 homes per mile to obtain a grant for water lines.

I grew up in Springfield Township in the early 80s and we didn't have city water up there.

I joke that we may not have had city water, but we did have running water...My dad running out to the creek and back into the house with a bucket of water.

It is heartbreaking to know that in 2006, we have families without city water.

That is UNACCEPTABLE!!!

I just saw today that Kasunic gave Fay-Penn $1.1 million dollars for their account to hand out loans to businesses that want to start here.

We need to use that money to build up areas like Franklin, Menallen, Jefferson, and Perry Townships, so that companies will come here to start or grow their businesses.

I heard from citizens who were concerned that their would be too much development if sewage was brought into Franklin, but if control who they elect into Township supervisor and county commissioner, then they can control which areas are zoned or rezoned commercial and which areas are zoned or rezoned residential and agricultural.

This 2006, everyone needs water and sewage, but we, the people, still need to be able to control their neighborhoods and communities to decide how it will be developed and if I am elected as your State Representative, I will stand with the people and be their voice and help pass state laws to protect your rights to control the development of your communities.

I am running for State Representative for you and your families, not for me or my family, because I have a good department of defense contractor job.

I am not going to be a career politician. I want to get in fix our county and district and make it so, future representatives can't mess it up again and then go back to work with a private company.

I am not in this for the money or to extend a county or state pension like other candidates that are unemployed or a year or 2 short of their full pension.

I have always worked for a living and never had a pension, because I believe you should invest in yourself and not depend on the taxpayers.

I have always invested in a 401k and I believe everyone including public employees and politicians should have to invest their own money into their retirements.

Won't you please stand with me, so that we can save the 52nd District by cutting taxes and bring good jobs to our area for the sake of our children?

Please email me at electearnesty@zoominternet.net if you would like to volunteer, donate time or money, need yard signs, pens, t-shirts, hats, Steelers schedules or if you just want to talk or have questions for me.

I am always available for the citizens and I always will be if I am elected.

Until Next Time...Have a Great Day!!!

Let the Campaigning Begin!!!

The day after Labor Day is considered the first day of campaign season for the General Election.

So, as I did the day after the Primary Election, I will once again publicly ask Deberah Kula to debate me 3 or 4 times in front of the voters.

I sent her an email back in May, but she never replied, I hope she plans on debating me, because I believe the people deserve to see and hear the candidates discuss the issues that are very important to us.

Also, I ask everyone to go and check out the Project Vote Smart website, this is an organization that is chaired by some very prominent current and former Congressmen/women and US Senators that send out questionnaires to candidates.

Well, I answered mine, but Deberah Kula must not have had the time or just decided that it isn't important for the people to know her answers to the questions and issues that are are important to all of us.

The topics that are asked have a wide range and include: abortion, budget and tax, campaign finance and government reform, education, employment and affirmative action, environment & energy, gun rights, health, welfare, poverty, and legislative priorities issues.

All of which are or should be important to each and every candidate, but apparently not Ms. Kula, because she refused to answer the questions as you can see from Project Vote Smart's website for Ms. Kula http://www.vote-smart.org/npat.php?can_id=MPA57196

You can click here to see my biographical page http://www.vote-smart.org/bio.php?can_id=MPA14838 and here to see my answers to Project Vote Smart's questions http://www.vote-smart.org/npat.php?can_id=MPA14838

And you can always follow the money to see where all the money is coming from and who is buying political favors by doing a search at www.followthemoney.org

This site breaks down where the money is coming from and includes a pie chart to show the percentage that comes from out of state and even by zip codes. You will see a lot of money pouring in from outside of the 52nd District. Makes you wonder why?

If we want to fix the problems of the Fay-West area, we must vote for a representative that is not afraid to answer the tough questions and whom owes no one anything, but the voters.

The only person running for State Representative in the 52nd District that fits that description is William R. Earnesty.

And I would greatly appreciate your vote in November!

Until Next Time...Have A Great Day!!!

More Fayette Politics as Usual...

A couple of weeks ago, Mahoney and Kula hosted an "Old Fashioned Democratic Picnic" in Fayette County.

That was cool, but the best part was the guest of honor was Democratic Committee Chairman Fred Lebder.

This in it's self isn't that fascinating, BUT as my friend from Dawson said in the online version of the Herald-Standard, Mahoney and Kula spent the entire primary election telling everyone that they had nothing to do with Fred Lebder, which of course must be a lie or why would they make him the guest of honor.

Politics as usual in the 52nd District will not help us, it hasn't helped us all of these years.

We must fix the Fay-West area and the only way we can do that is by voting for a representative of the people, which is William Earnesty.

We have had enough politicians screwing up our lives by raising our taxes and giving themselves giant payraises. and by giving their friends jobs.

Everything I have, I have earned. I have never been given a job or been appointed to any government positions. My opponent had her county job given to her and her magistrate job was given to her as a political favor, now she feels that she is "owed" this State Representative job.

It's about time that we, the people begin electing people like us, who know what it's like to work for a living, who know what's it's like to work minimum wage jobs, who know what it's like to struggle and live paycheck to paycheck, that is the only way that we are going to improve our communities.

We need to stop voting for the elite high class snobs that drag in the rich's campaign contributions and have to return political favors, because they believe that they are better than us.

That's why we need to elect William R. Earnesty, because I will fight for us, because I have not accepted campaign contributions from rich families from Pittsburgh and Washington, DC and I don't owe anyone a single political favor and I never will.

Until Next Time...Have A Great Day!!!

Fayette Politics as Usual...

The Tribune-Review has a weekly article that they call "Whispers", so I will call this "Gasps!", because when you read what I heard is going on in Fayette County you will gasp, or maybe not, but it will make you feel like you are living in Chicago when the gangsters ran the city.

A very close friend of mine from the Dawson area has told me that SUPPOSEDLY there was a deal made between Fred Lebder, the Fayette Democrats and the Fayette Republicans.

Supposedly, the deal says that the Fayette Democrats will not push Bob Casey for US Senator in Fayette which will some how help Rick Santorum, if the Fayette Republicans will not push John Mikita in the 51st and myself in the 52nd Legislative Districts allowing Mahoney and Kula a free ride.

I don't know how true this is, because I am pretty much running this campaign on my own without too much outside help, so I don't get involved with the backroom political deals that have been going on in Fayette County for decades.

But, if it is true, we have to stop Fayette politics as usual, because this is why Fayette is the second poorest county in the state, because our political "leaders" hand pick their candidates who then are nothing but puppets and do as they are told by the people stuffing money into their pockets, instead of doing what the citizens tell them to do.

The only way that we will get a true people's representative in the 52nd District is by voting for William R. Earnesty in November, otherwise we will just get another politician looking for a free ride and that extra year or two that she needs to get her full pension.

Think about it...Do we want another puppet in Harrisburg or a representative.

The choice is yours!

Until Next Time...Have a Great Day!!!

Yard Signs!!!

To every one that has been calling for yard signs...I have some good news and some bad news!!!!

The good news is that we received 150 signs last week, the bad news is that they are gone!!!

Yes, you read that correctly, we ran out of signs in 4 days. We had a backorder of about 100 and those people picked them up, then we passed out the other 50 not long after.

We have ordered another 200 signs which should be coming in this week. We already have homes for at least 50 of those signs, so if anyone out there needs/wants an Elect Earnesty yard sign, please email us at electearnesty@zoominternet.net or give us a call and we will put your name on the list.

Until Next Time...Have a Great Day!!!

All Apologies

First off, let me apologize for not updating my blog in almost a month.

It has been a busy month.

I have been campaigning in the Dawson/Vanderbilt area, which is difficult to do when you have to work 50-60 hours per week.

I was out of town for a little over a week on family business, which we had to take care of before campaign season kicks off after Labor Day.

I will be posting a couple more posts within the next few minutes, but I had to throw out my apology to everyone that has been logging on, emailing and/or calling me to make sure I was ok.

Don't worry, I am still out here fighting for everyone and now work has returned back to a normal 40 hour week, I will be campaigning every evening and weekend until Election Day.

Until Next Time...Have a Great Day!!!
