Earnesty In This Sunday's Trib Whispers?

It seems a "worthy" candidate running for State Representative in the 52nd District has contacted the Tribune-Review's Whispers reporter about my Federal jury duty.

I hope if it sells papers, I get a cut since I am not accepting campaign contributions from people or groups from outside of the 52nd District like the rest of the candidates are doing.

Here's what happened with my Federal jury duty:

I received a summons for Federal jury duty that lasts 2 weeks, sometime toward the end of last year. I filled out the questionnaire and all of my employee info.

One of the questions asked if taking 2 weeks off from work would cause a hardship.

Well, the answer was yes, so I requested to be excused because:

1. Since I am not a career politician, self employed, retired, or employed by the government (like my opponents), my employee only reimburses me for 1 week of pay during jury duty, so I would lose a whole weeks pay.

2. It would have been a waste of time and the government's money to have me drive down to Pittsburgh to sit in the jury pool and not get chosen to serve on a jury, because I am very conservative.

I didn't put this in my request, but I believe that all convicted murderers, drug dealers/users, child molesters, or rapists should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law upto and including the death penalty. I believe life sentences only waste tax money that could be better spent helping the law abiding citizens, instead of pampering criminals.

This would cause the crime rate to drop drastically, not to mention it would help to cut taxes by closing empty prisons.

To make a short story longer, I never received a denial letter for my excuse request and the info that I received with my summons said "request...will be returned as denied...", so since I received nothing, I assumed it was approved.

I received another summons to appear in front of Judge Conti and she said that out of all of the people who didn't show up for jury duty, I was the only one who had a valid reason and should have been excused.

She basically found me not guilty of not appearing for jury duty. She placed me back on the rolls to be chosen for duty at a later date.

Case closed.

I received another summons for jury duty 3 days later for 2 weeks starting April 24, 2006.

I requested to be excused again, since my employer only pays for 1 week of jury duty, so it would cause a financial hardship. Like I said, I am not self employed, retired, employed by a township or city like the other candidates in this race, so I need to work for a living.

So, as you can see, this really wasn't as interesting as one of my "honorable" opponents thought it was.

Oh, by the way, before another candidate thinks this is a great story, I received a speeding ticket right before Christmas on 119, but I pleaded not guilty, because the distances that the trooper used were incorrect and if I was driving as fast as he claimed, I would have been dodging in and out of traffic, but I was coming home from Christmas shopping with my kids and we were singing Christmas carols, so he was mistaken.

If my fellow candidates, any reporters, or any of the great people in our 52nd District ever have a question about me or my family, please don't ever hesitate to ask.

You can always reach me at electearnesty@zoominternet.net.

Another Beautiful Day to Meet the Voters

I just got home from meeting about a hundred voters today after church.

Politicians are so cynical! I have had so many politicians tell me that people don't care any more.

Well, then they haven't met Mrs. Geary. She is a registered democrat who invited me in to her beautiful home for coffee and we spoke for about an hour.

All she wanted to know was how I could lower the cost of prescriptions and help her with her property taxes, when I explained it to her, she asked what she had to do to vote for me.

She told me she had been reading the newspapers and I am the only candidate that has a plan to help the people.
She said she saw a candidate in the Uniontown paper last week, proudly claiming that she was against eliminating the property taxes.

Property taxes hurt everyone, except tax collectors.

You see, it's the people with the ideas to help the Fay-West area that will win this race, not the big money.

I even talked to a gentleman named Mr. Kimball, who told me that he wasn't registered to vote, so his opinion didn't matter.
I asked him if he paid taxes and he exclaimed that he did and they were too high, so I told him that his opinion mattered to me.

We spoke for about 30 minutes about income taxes, property taxes, cell phone taxes, gas tax, and cigarette taxes.

After we were done I handed him a voters registration and I told him that I didn't care if he registered as a Democrat or a Republican, as long as he registered to vote and votes, because too many men and women died for his right to vote and that right is too precious not to use.

Also, I have been explaining to the good people of Fayette about the new voting machines that the commissioners are buying and about 80% of the people had no idea about them.

The people are so happy that I would go out of my way to help people learn about the new machines, especially when it's not even my job.

But, isn't that what being a public servant is all about...helping the people that you serve!

I have been showing them on my laptop how to use the machine and they were so glad that I took the time to explain it that the Democrats said that they would put my name in as a democratic write in.

I don't know how that would work, but I guess if I have more write-in votes than the other democratic candidate, then I would win on the Democratic ticket.

Wouldn't that be wild?

For everyone that doesn't know about the new voting machines, please visit this site as soon as possible and please show your family and friends, especially the elderly.

How to use Fayette County's new voting machine: http://www.co.fayette.pa.us/fayette/cwp/view.asp?a=2139&q=521160

Well, I would like to thank all the kind people who invited me into their homes today and yesterday. I enjoyed meeting with each and every one of you.

And since I work a real full time job (unlike most of the other candidates) supporting the military, I won't be out in our beautiful neighborhoods again until next weekend.

I look forward to meeting and discussing the issues with each and everyone of you!

Until Next Time...Have A Great Day!!!

This is So TRUE

This is very sad, but TRUE.
Even though our current state rep decided to take the illegal unvouchered expenses , then retire, so the people couldn't vote him out, we still have incumbents using our tax dollars to win elections.

Thanks to PA Cleansweep for supporting me for State Representative in the 52nd District and for this photo.

PSEA Endorsement?

The PSEA (PA State Educational Association) held interviews on Saturday March 18, 2006 in Uniontown.

I was interviewed along with the other candidates running in the 51st and 52nd District.

I predict that they will end up endorsing Judy Reed in the 52nd.

Why? Because she's a retired teacher and retired teachers will vote to raise the teacher's pensions every time, just like Jim Shaner did in 2001, which caused our property taxes to almost double.

The PSEA representatives asked me a question that kind of shocked me.

They asked me if I was actively seeking endorsements and/or donations.

I explained to them that the only endorsements that I was seeking was that of the voters. I don't believe in making promises to groups or organizations just so that they will give me money or "endorse" me to their members.

If a candidate makes promises or takes money from groups and individuals from outside of their districts, then who will that candidate vote for?

Will they vote for the tax payers from their district or will they vote for the groups who give them money?

That is why I will never except any donations from outside of the 52nd District, because I will be a State Representative for the people of the 52nd District, NOT a career politician puppet for the party leaders in Harrisburg or political groups from Harrisburg, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, New York, or Washington, DC, or rich people from outside of our district.

Watch where your candidates pocket their campaign contributions. That's who they will vote for every time, not for you.

That's why we should always vote for the person with the solutions to our problems, not the person who collects more money from outside of the district, or the richest person, or the person who is in the same party as you.

Until Next Time...Have a Great Day!!!

Fayette Builders Association

I was invited to the Fayette Builders Association dinner, tonight.

All candidates were invited, but only 4 out of 10 from the 52nd District and 3 out of the 6 from the 51st was there.

Good questions, good comments, and a lot of good ideas.

I look forward to more of these and of course, I look forward to debates with all the candidates.

Hopefully, I will have time to squeeze them all in, but with spring coming, it will be hard to with working a full time job (40-60 hours) and with my volunteer work with the kid's sports teams, but we will do the best we can.

It's good to see that people are reading my blog. I heard that they are commenting on a lot of sites about it.

As long as people spread the truth and not lies, then it is all good.

With politics and politicians, some people will do and say any thing to get that pot of gold at the end of the rainbow and to continue to live off of the tax payers until they retire.

Thank goodness...I am not a politician and have no intentions of being a career politician.

Until Next Time...Have a Great Day!!!

Get On Your Mark...Get Set...GO!!!

Well, today was the last day to file challenges against your opponent's petitions.

Either no one challenged our petitions or we had too many signatures to worry about.

So campaigning begins tomorrow.

This is going to be so much fun. I really love getting out and meeting people and hearing what's on their mind and what we need to do to fix the Fay-West area.

I especially like to listen to our older generation, because they can tell us how it used to be.

How the Fay-West area was booming before taxes increased faster than the inflation rate, before their children had to move out of the state so they could afford to start a family, how their children said that they would move back to PA once things improved.

Well, now is time to start improving PA, so our sons and daughters can finally come home...to stay!

With your help and your vote, we can make Pennsylvania great again!

I have a meeting with the PSEA to discuss endorsements and I will speak at a dinner tomorrow.

My phone has been ringing off the hook. A lot of local organizations, groups, and associations are asking to hear from me, asking if I want their endorsement, and even begging me to allow them to endorse me.

Well, I came this far with nothing more than good old fashioned grassroots support from a few of the faithful, so we will sort through the endorsement offers and choose some and refuse others, but we will never stray from the fact that I am not a politician and I do not accept donations and endorsements for future favors.

I hope to meet each of you as we begin knocking on doors this weekend and talking to each and every one of you.

Until Next Time...Have a Great Day!

Earnesty on the Radio Today

I called in to a local talk show today, because I found out that the host was having one of the Democrat candidates on, but no other candidates, so I decided to get on the old fashioned way.

It was the "Let's Talk" on WMBS 590AM in Uniontown.

The host's name is Bob something and he had one of the editors from the Herald Standard, Paul Sunyak on there with him.

They were discussing a whole laundry list of issues, but Bob was mostly pushing a certain candidate that is hoping that she can become the new Queen of the 52nd District and get a free Cadillac or Lincoln from the taxpayers.

I offered to come on the show, so that I could be interviewed and get some free air time, but Bob said that it would be too close to the "Equal Air Time" law, so basically he was saying that only this certain candidate was allowed on the show.

Be sure to listen next Tuesday, 3/14, so you can call in your questions and let her know that we don't need any more royalty in office. The number is 724-438-4593.

Any ways, I called in and left the listening public know about my solutions to the issues, which of course, the other candidates have no solutions, they only $$$ signs in their eyes.

It's a shame that people would run for public office just for the money, instead of the real reason of public service...helping the people in your community.

Of course, Bob, who calls himself a conservative, cut me off with the "We're out of time" line, but I think I came across very well and I received a lot of phone calls!

I was a little surprised at the number of people who listen to that station. I must have received about 10-20 calls from people who heard me on the radio or who got a call about it.

Well, that's all I got for today.

It's movie night for me and my kids!

Tomorrow, I will tell you all about a couple dates on my schedule and you won't believe who is trying to get the honor of endorsing William R. Earnesty for State Representative.

Until Next Time...Have a Great Day!

Beautiful Weather a Couple of Weekends Late

Man, oh, man!

Can you believe the weather today?

Yes, it was cloudy and gloomy looking all day, but it was in the high 60s!

Too, bad it wasn't like this 2 weekends ago when we were freezing to death circulating petitions.

Oh, well, we will have to change the dates that petitions are circulated when I am elected.

We will introduce legislation to circulate petitions some time between July and October.

But, for now I will enjoy the wonderful weather with my daughter and son and go play some B-Ball.

Until Next Time...Have a Great Day!

THANK YOU!!!!

Thank you to all the people of the 52nd District, from Mt. Pleasant & Scottdale to North Union Township and From Connellsville to Perry and all points in between, who took the time out of their busy schedules to sign my petition to get on the ballot to be your next State Representative.

We were the only candidate to have signatures from ALL over the 52nd District and not just in our neighborhoods.

I know it was very cold to stand outside your home or on the street as you signed, but your sacrifice will be rewarded by having a State Representative who represents you and not the political parties or corporations in Harrisburg.

Also, I appreciate the words of support & encouragement from all the democrats who wanted to sign our petitions, but couldn't.

Oh and by the way, thank you to all of the people who have called and emailed to tell me about democrat and republican candidates that were paying people to not only "volunteer" to circulate their petitions, but who were PAYING people to sign their petitions.

I wonder if they will be paying people to vote for them, too.

Speaking of true volunteers, I would like to thank all of the people who helped me get signatures around the Fay-West area...Mr. & Mrs. Raygor, Mr. Mayers, Ms. Koontz (over 300 herself!), Mr. Keffer, and a special helper from Dunbar who wishes to remain anonymous.

Thank you to each and everyone of you and if I forgot anyone, please send me an email and I will put your name on this page.

We only have about 2 months to go until the Primary election, so I will be out and about again...knocking on doors and trying to meet each and everyone of you.

I will be out mostly on evenings and weekends, since I am the only candidate that works a real full time job, but I look forward to talking to everyone soon.

Until Next Time...Have a Great Day!

Career Politicians Coming Out of the Woodwork for a Promotion of Perks!

I was just checking out the PA Dept of State website and noticed the "Unofficial" list of candidates.

WOW! TEN people are trying to win the seat of State Representative of the 52nd District!

Out of those 10 only 2 ran against Jim Shaner in 2004.

That was Gerald Lucia (Mt. Pleasant) and myself, William R. Earnesty. We were the only 2 who had the guts to stand up to a 10 year incumbent and to give the people of the 52nd District a choice.

I wonder why the other 8 people think that they have what it takes this year, but they weren't good enough to represent the people two years ago?

Oh, well, the 8 other people apparently didn't know how to fix Pennsylvania's problems in 2004, so I am sure they don't have a clue in 2006.

None of the other 9 have any solutions about how to eliminate homestead property taxes, how to bring jobs into the area to stay, how to help senior citizens with the high cost of prescriptions, how to help volunteer fire companies from closing, or how to fund our schools WITHOUT raising taxes, BUT I DO!

Each of the 9 other people who want to be your State Representative are either career politicians looking for another easy job for life or have been involved in the back room deals of the major political parties.

I challenge every candidate in this race to a debate on the issues and about their solutions, if they have any.

I also challenge each candidate to refuse any campaign contributions from any person or any organization that is outside of the 52nd District, because we need a Representative that represents the people of the Fay-West area, not for interests around the state or the country.

It's about time the newspapers start asking the hard questions, so the people can make an informed decision instead of making biased decisions based upon ads paid for by political action groups, political party leaders and rich candidates who live in large expensive houses who have no idea how the real hard working tax payers of the 52nd District live.

William R. Earnesty...the Hard Working Candidate for the Hard Working People of the 52nd District!

Until Next Time...Have a Great Day!

As Per Requested By Our Readers...A Little About William R. Earnesty (continued)

I will represent the people of the Fay-West area and the 52nd District and not the party leaders in Harrisburg.

I will not be a career politician and will not accept the current status quo of the General Assembly.

I will drive my own privately owned car to and from Harrisburg and charge only actual mileage and expenses and will fight for open records for all members of the General Assembly.

I will introduce legislation to limit terms of both the State Senators (12 years) and the State Representatives (10 years).

I will fight to lower business taxes, so new companies will flow into Pennsylvania, instead of out.

I will introduce legislation to rid the General Assembly of illegal and unconstitutional perks such as free cars & gas, fully paid healthcare, unvouchered expenses, and large pensions and legislation to reduce the size of the General Assembly and will pass the savings to the people to eliminate property taxes forever.

I will bring jobs and property tax relief to the 52nd District during my time in office and will not seek election beyond 10 years.

I believe that if I can't fix the problems of Pennsylvania within 10 years, they can't be fixed.

I look forward to meeting each and every one of you and talking about how, with your vote, we can bring honor and integrity back to Harrisburg and fix the future of Pennsylvania today.

Until Next Time...Have a Great Day!!!

As Per Requested By Our Readers...A Little About William R. Earnesty

I joined the Air Force directly after I graduated from Southmoreland High School.

I am a graduate from Westmoreland County Community College with an associate’s degree in Computer Systems Electronics and a certificate in Information Security.

I am currently supporting the military by being employed by a local defense contractor, DRS Laurel Technologies.

I voluntarily took a $5.00 per hour ($10,400 per year) pay cut to join DRS Laurel Technologies to help support the Army and to give back to my community.

To me, being a State Representative is not about the money or benefits, but about building a better Fay-West area for our children.

My educational background, high work ethics, and solutions to the problems hurting our families give the people of the 52nd District a great opportunity to finally choose a State Representative to serve them, instead of another career politician serving the party leaders in Harrisburg.

I have volunteered as an assistant coach for the Connellsville Little League and the Connellsville Girl's Softball League.
I am a life member of the National Rifle Association and a member of the Connellsville Slovak Club, Connellsville Sons of Italy, and the Connellsville American Legion Post 301.

More to come...soon.

Until Next Time...Have a Great Day!

Requests for My Background

I have received more and more requests about my background and a little more info on myself, so I decided to post a little from my candidacy announcement and as we get closer to the primary I will elaborate on my solutions for the major problems of our great state.

Of course, those problems are:

1. High Taxes - Property taxes, income taxes, business taxes, etc.

2. Jobs - Not enough good paying jobs, good paying jobs fleeing the state, etc.

3. Corruption in Harrisburg - Automatic pay raises, illegal pensions and perks, campaign finance reform, etc.

Until Next Time...Have a Great Day!

Filed More Petitions Today

We sent an additional 60 + signatures to Harrisburg today.

We were petitioning in Lemont Furnace and other parts of North Union Township today.

We had approximately 100 Democrats come to us asking to sign my petition. I explained to them that Democrats could only sign for Democrat candidates and they assured me that I had their vote in November.

It's so good to see us finally come together as We, the people, instead of we the democrats or we the republicans.

Hopefully, this election the man with the best ideas wins instead of the man who is in the majority party.

The Mud Has Started to Fly

This morning my 10 year old daughter answered the phone and got an ear full of profanity.

When I grabbed the phone and asked who in the world could have so much hatred inside of them, the caller demanded that I remove myself from the race...of course I will not print the profane words that they used.

We all know that people use profanity when they can not think of the correct adverbs and adjectives to use.

This person went on to call me a nazi, a fascists, a communist, and a pig, because I believe that a State Representative should not make more than the average income of the people he represents or drive a free car or receive free healthcare or receive giant pensions.

Of course, I don't know what a nazi, a fascist, communist, nor a pig have in common, because they are all different things.

I asked the person for their name, but they declined to give me that info.

Unfortunately for this person, I have caller ID and I know who you are and what your phone number is, so if you call my home again and use such disgraceful language to any one in my family, I will have you arrested and publish your name and phone number on this website.

I have never called any one of my opponents and lied or used profanity toward them or about them.

I have always voiced my opinions truthfully and shared my goals and ideas with every one.

If I upset my opponents by offering the truth, that is something I can not apologize for, because every voter deserves to know the truth about each candidate and the truth about why each candidate is running for State Representative.

Also, every voter needs to know which candidates have honorable intentions and real ideas to fix the 52nd District and not just tell us what our problems are.

We know what the problems are and I am the only candidate who has given solutions on how to fix our problems.

William R. Earnesty for State Representative of the 52nd District

Until Next time....Have a Great Day!!!!

Candidates Trampling Your Rights

The fight has just begun.

We will continue to get signatures to file, because there are people out there (other candidates) who don't want you to exercise your rights to choose your State Representative.

Keep reading this Blog and continue to watch your newspapers for petition challenges and see who wants to take away your right to vote that is defended and protected daily by our military men and women.

A petition challenge is when our opponents, the career politicians (Lowery, Kula, Reed, Bozek, and Butela) realize that they don't have a chance to win with the voters, so they try to win in the courts by having your signature removed from a petition, because you didn't dot your i's or cross your t's or you didn't write the date exactly right or you didn't print your name clearly enough.

They do this, because they fear you. They know that you want a State Representative and not another career politician.

They do this, because they would rather have the courts elect your representative instead of you.

They do this, because Lowery, Kula, Reed, Bozek, and Butela think that you are too dumb to elect your representative.

Don't let them trample your right to choose your State Representative.

Call them or write a letter to the editor and let them know that you can and will choose your next State Representative!

The Party Committees have already chosen who they want in office.

Do you think they were thinking of the people when they chose? Of course NOT!

They chose career politician puppets who will do as the leaders say and not what the people want.

We the people have been kept down for decades because of the political parties!

It's time to choose a State Representative, not another career Politician!

Vote William R. Earnesty for State Representative of the 52nd District!

The only candidate with a real plan to eliminate homestead property taxes!

The only candidate with a real plan to save PA!

William R. Earnesty!

Thank You!

Thank you to every single person who signed my petition to get me on the Primary Ballot, each and every one of the 400 + people who took the time out of their busy day to help fix Pennsylvania.

I would also like to thank the 300-400 Democrats who called, emailed, wrote letters, or approached me on the street telling me that they wish they could sign my petitions, but offered to help my campaign in other ways.

Each and every one of you are Patriots. Patriots in the fight for a new Pennsylvania. A better more efficient PA.

We will be out on Saturday and Sunday collecting more signatures.

We look forward to meeting more of the great people in the 52nd District!

God Bless You!

Harrisburg or Bust!

Of course, Harrisburg is already busted, that's why I am running for State Representative to fix Harrisburg and the Fay-West Area.

It's about 4:30am and my 2 kids are half asleep getting dressed for the journey to Harrisburg to help me file my 400+ petitions to get on the ballot.

I was going to get a babysitter, but they wanted to see where their Dad was going to work beginning December 1st after he wins the election.

I am lucky to have such intelligent optimistic children and I can't wait to fix Pennsylvania, so that my children and yours can live and work in PA without worrying about their company moving to a neighboring state or country or whether they should pay their mortgage, property taxes, utilities, or eat this week.

Together, we can build a better Pennsylvania for our families, all I am asking is for your vote...nothing more and I will give you 100%.

We will file our 400+ petitions today and then probably file another 100+ on Monday, so the people of the 52nd District will finally have a chance to elect a State Representative instead of another career politician.

I will be back with a new post about my experience in Harrisburg and of course, with Thank yous to all the people who have helped collect or sign my petitions as soon as we return today.

Until next time....Have a Great Day!!!!

Petitioning In Church on Ash Wednesday

I couldn't believe the woman on the phone who called to tell me that a few of the 52nd District State Representative Democratic candidates were petitioning in Church on such a Holy day as Ash Wednesday.

She said they weren't standing on the sidewalk or on the steps, but right INSIDE the church!

I had to see it with my own eyes, this just couldn't be true, so I left work on my lunch break (I work for a living, I can't petition during the day like the career politicians can) and drove past the churches that the kind woman told me about.

And lo and behold, there she (it was a woman candidate) standing inside the door soliciting people as they entered the church to worship.

I was so ashamed, that I almost crashed as I hung my head. I wasn't the only one, there was a lot of people leaving the church with red faces from embarrassment and anger for the woman candidate.

All, I could think of was that Bible story that we learned as children about Jesus upsetting tables and throwing the people out as they hawked their goods inside the church.

But, what this woman (and a man at another church) was doing, was 100 times worse.

There is no way that I would ever solicit a signature inside a church, even if it was my church, which I have attended since I was 8 years old. That is just a disgrace and a slap in the face to all good God fearing people every where.

I will be sure to say a prayer for the 2 that I saw soliciting in Church and hope that they never do that again, because there were many many upset church members today.

Not only did it cost them some votes, but I am sure it cost them a lot more in God's eyes!

Until Next time....God bless and have a Great Day!

The Earnesty Tour of the 52nd District Continues

We were in Perryopolis today and Dawson/Vanderbilt yesterday!

Wow! Perry is beautiful. It is just awesome to walk the streets of Perry and know that George Washington walked in that very spot 200 years ago.

I love history, that is another reason why I love the 52nd District.

We have Washington's Mill, Ft. Necessity & Jumonville(51st District), Braddock's Road, Casparis, Col. Crawford's Cabin, the Whiskey Rebellion, Abraham Lincoln's family cemetery, and so much more right here in our back yard.

There is so much that we could advertise, I just can't understand why our current representatives don't do more to sell the Fay-West area.

I think it's because they like to keep this area down, so that they can get their pictures taken with those giant "The Price is Right" novelty checks making it look like they are helping us, when really they are just stealing from Peter to pay Paul and pocketing half.

We need more real people in office. People who have worked real blue collar jobs. People who know how to live within a budget. People who are not afraid roll up their sleeves to get the job done.

I am that person.
