What Happened In Mt. Pleasant?
Well, it has been a little over a week since I visited the good folks of Mt. Pleasant, but I have been busy making phone calls and knocking on doors, so I think the good people of the 52nd District will let me slide on not updating my blog as much as I should.
I met with a group of about 100 voters at the Mt. Pleasant Sr. Citizen's Center and it was great.
I spoke to them about my background and how I would cut their property taxes, cut income taxes, cut business taxes, bring good jobs to the area, support their firemen without tax dollars, and make all state government records open to the public.
Oh, and I explained to them that I am the ONLY candidate in the 52nd District who has stated that I will not accept a free car or gas from the tax payers, if I am elected.
I ended my meeting by taking questions, because the ladies and gentlemen said that the other candidate wouldn't answer questions, so I took the time to answer their questions.
Oh, and I also explained to them how my opponent was handpicked by the Fayette County Democrat Party Chairmen, who demanded that all of the committee people would support her even before petition time.
The Westmoreland citizens didn't seem too happy about having another Fayette politician shoved down their throats.
They seemed very happy about voting for one of their own local high school graduates for State Representative...ME!
All in all, it was a very nice visit. They invited me to eat lunch with them, but I explained that I was visiting them during my lunch hour and that I had to get back to work, because I don't have the luxury of being an unemployed politician like my opponent.
They understood shook my hand and wished me the best of luck and then ate lunch and spoke with my parents after I left.
And I went back to work resetting Bradley Fighting Vehicles and helping to protect our soldiers.
Until Next Time...Have a Great Day!!!
